Build a Karinderya That Walks

Complete table-and-chair sets, a short stove path, and lanes for plate carries beat a pretty maze.

Restaurant Layout Guide

Karinderya! looks like an interior-design toy and plays like a walking sim with a stove. Layout is how you turn code furniture into paid plates. A Deluxe cooker from 2MVISITS hidden behind a chair farm is a trophy. A Basic stove with a two-step walk to four seats can out-earn it. This guide is the build page for the Guides Hub. It assumes you already know getting started prompts. Use it before you dump 3MVISITS folding pieces into a hallway, and use it again after you visit someone else’s packed eatery and want to copy the spacing, not the chair count.

SILOG has not published a grid-size spec. What follows is observed play: Place Table and Chairs, assign, auto-cook, carry, restock. Creators who “build a Filipino restaurant” in public footage keep repeating the same mistakes—too many chairs, stove in a corner, no lane, shop trip that abandons seated guests. Fix those four and you have a layout. Paint comes last.

Rule 1 — Buy and place complete sets

A table without chairs cannot take a full assignment. Chairs without a table are clutter that NPCs will not legally sit. Code drops love to split the pair: Parsons from the old 1MVISITS wave, folding table and chair from live 3MVISITS. Inventory is not a restaurant. Place the pair in the same cluster before you assign the next wave. If the shop restock timer has chairs but not tables, wait. Extra tabletops lengthen the door queue and feed runaways.

Match set size to stove tier. Two or three complete sets on Basic is a restaurant. Ten chairs on Basic is a waiting room. The furniture tier list ranks seating as capacity, not as flex. Folding pieces from 3MVISITS are not worse because they fold; they are seats. Put them where a server already walks.

Rule 2 — Short stove-to-table path

Cooking auto-completes on a working stove. Serving does not. You pick up a plate and you walk. Every extra tile is delay, and delay is the runaway banner. Park Basic / Standard / Deluxe where the busiest cluster is a short carry. Do not hide Deluxe behind a decorative materials wall because paints and materials looked cheap after BATINATAYOHA dumped Concrete.

If you own Deluxe from 2MVISITS, treat placement as part of the gift. A second cooker is only a layout win when a six-player crew can staff both and the shop can feed both. Solo owners should keep one kitchen node and a tight dining oval, not two islands.

Rule 3 — Leave a lane

Plate carriers, restock runners, and the occasional “whack runaway” experiment all need floor. A perfect rectangle of chairs with no aisle looks dense on a thumbnail and plays like a traffic jam. Leave a walking lane from stove to door and from dining to shop. Co-op makes this louder: six avatars plus NPCs. If you cannot path without jumping on a table, you overbuilt.

Visit other karinderyas after your own loop is stable. Looking at someone else’s chair density teaches spacing better than a paragraph. Do not stand in their assign hitbox. Copy the lane, not their Deluxe count. Public footage of empty neighboring plots with no chairs is a reminder: furniture is the product. Their layout failed at Rule 1, not at paint.

Rule 4 — Shop trip is part of the floor plan

The shop is not across a loading screen, but it is far enough that a restock abandons seated guests if you already over-seated. Put your dining cluster on the side that makes the shop walk survivable, or assign a co-op shopper. Empty condiment warnings are a layout failure as much as a money failure: you cannot complete plates, so the pretty room still banners. Read stock and shop for timers; this page only insists the path exists.

Materials and paints change collision and vibe. They do not seat NPCs. Spend Concrete from BATINATAYOHA on a wall that shortens a drafty lane, not on a maze that lengthens carries. If you are not sure, do not build. Serve.

A simple opening layout

  1. One table, enough chairs for a small group, stove within a short carry.
  2. Redeem codes. Place Deluxe and folding/Parsons pieces into that same cluster, not a second room.
  3. Add the next complete set only when the first set stays full and plates still arrive on time.
  4. Stop adding chairs when seated waits appear. That is a stove problem or a carry problem, not a “need more furniture” problem.
  5. Paint after a rush with no banners.

That five-step build is the whole early game. Progression is the same idea in spend order. Menu and orders covers what you are actually serving while you walk those lanes. Layout will not invent a secret five-star shrine. It will stop you from turning 3MVISITS into a folding-chair museum.

Co-op roles map onto the floor: door host near the entrance cluster, cook camping the stove node, runner on the lane, shopper on the shop path. If four people stand in the kitchen, your layout is lying. You built a stage, not a karinderya. Rebuild until the jobs have somewhere to stand without blocking Assign Customer to Table.

Mobile crews should keep even tighter clusters. Touch carries are slower; long lanes gift runaways a head start. Deluxe does not fix a phone-only maze. Shrink the oval. Keep the lane. Serve lutong-bahay-style plates on a floor a real neighborhood eatery could walk.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Karinderya players.

Should I place all my code furniture at once?

Place complete table-and-chair pairs in one cluster near the stove. Do not scatter folding chairs down a hallway just because 3MVISITS granted them.

Where should the Deluxe stove go?

On the shortest walk to your busiest tables. A corner Deluxe wastes 2MVISITS. Leave a lane for plate carries.

Why do more chairs make more runaways?

Extra seats raise demand. If cook or carry cannot keep up, guests leave. Match chair count to stove tier and crew size.

Do paints and concrete help the layout?

Only if they shorten a path or block a useless gap. They do not seat NPCs. See paints and materials.

Can I copy another player’s restaurant?

Copy spacing and lanes, not raw chair count. Visit after your own loop is stable, and do not block their assign prompt.
